A while back, I wrote a post about a chance meeting I had with Matt Crusen and Travis from Bar Louie. When I signed on today, I found this rather interesting blurb in que for comment moderation:
Hey guys and gals, my name is Matt Crusen, some of you know me others may not. Regardless I am now managing Bar Louie in Peoria. Just a little FYI Travis is no longer with the company, for that matter nor is any of the staff that was there prior to me taking over in early October. I want you all to know that I was very skeptical about taking this job because I too had terrible service out there. I see it as a challenge. this being said I may or may not see you at Bar Louie.
Now, I suppose we can all take this however we want. Personally, I think Matt genuinely wants to turn people’s opinions of Bar Louie around. He’s served me drinks from behind the bar at Crusen’s on Farmington for many years, and there’s no one out there that can hustle behind a bar like Matt. If he can get his staff behind him, I really think they’ve got a shot. Whaddya say- Can Bar Louie play in Peoria again? (You have no idea how long I’ve been waiting to jam that cliche into my blog. I can now die in peace.)

Wow. I can’t believe he fired everyone. I mean, I’m sure some of the staff deserved it, but everyone? Seems kinda harsh…

I thought it was odd that Dawn was working at TNT’s and not at Bar Louie anymore.
FYI-Next week I’m back to work so hopefully I’ll see you on Saturday. Do you need a ticket or two?
FYII-I’m completely unable to log into my blog for some reason.

We were at Bar Louie’s yesterday, and well…I don’t believe he fired the whole staff! I don’t blame our waitress for the horrible service we got, I blame the management. Our table of eight sat and waited a half hour before we were acknowledged. I was ready to light up a cigarette and see if that got someones attention and over to our table! I had asked the hostess twice where our waitress was. She kept saying she would go get her…Why didn’t the hostess at least help out? Our poor waitress was running around like a chicken with it’s head cut off. They were understaffed, no bus boys to clean up tables, and I think they only had one chef…You can read more at Peoria Illinoisan’s blog how I felt. By the way, I asked the waitress how long she had been there and she said a month. She was there when the fire broke out! Hmmmm…My husband was paying the whole bill and regardless of our service, we left her a tip well over 15%. She deserved it! By the way, we had expected to pay well over $100.00 and the bill totaled $68.00 and some change. It would have been more but we weren’t served any beverages! The bartender was too busy and the waitress couldn’t go behind the bar to get drinks. I am talking about bottles beer! Sitting there for 2 1/2 hours, think of how much money they lost! And the waitress could have gotten a larger tip! Would we go back? Not unless I had a day to kill and I wasn’t hungry or thirsty! Highly unlikely because when we go out to eat, that’s what we expect to do! I am positive the other people in our party will not return and it’s a good thing we were paying otherwise the waitress would have gotten a zero tip.
