Nonsmokers whine about being forced to go to bars where smoking is allowed. Result: Government bans smoking in private businesses.
Nonsmokers whine about butts on the sidewalk. Result: Government helps pay for receptacles and ashtrays.
Nonsmokers whine about government paying for receptacles. Result: Government stops putting receptacles out and fines people for throwing butts on the ground. Smokers begin throwing butts in garbage cans.
Nonsmokers whine about garbage cans catching on fire. Result: Taxes are raised to hire more firefighters.
Nonsmokers whine about increased taxes. Result: Smokers kill all of the stupid whiny-ass nonsmokers and go back to smoking wherever the fuck they want.

I don’t smoke and I don’t whine about that stuff. I think a business should decide to allow smoking or not. If I don’t like a place that is smokey, guess what? I don’t have to go there. Let the free market decide instead of the elected douchebags who only do what they think will get them re-elected.

I smoked for almost 30 years and then quit 8 years ago. At first I was one of the newly reformed jerks who had a hissy fit about smokers but that soon wore off. Now I wish people would just play nice. Both sides are right … both sides are wrong … about something. I don’t think it’s nice to blow smoke in someones face, but I don’t think it will kill me or anyone else. Actually I would prefer tobacco smoke to some of the perfumes and colognes. I definitly prefer smoke to some of the farts everyone politely ignores. I often think we go after the smokers because we are helpless against the major polluters of industry. Kinda like kicking your dog when you get home for work.

Smokers are a minority, but, unlike other minorities, their rights are not championed. The same the intrusive, big government liberals who say we cannot target Muslim men with particular scrutiny at the airport because it is “racially insensitive” and demand that the boy scouts accept homosexuals or pretty much say anything, anywhere to anyone that might “offend” them seem to have no problem segregating smokers and casting them out into the cold. Strange how there is so much compassion for terrorist assholes at Guantanamo, but none for good Americans who choose to smoke.

I like smokes. And smokers.

I, too, am a non-smoker, but disagree with the smoking ban whole heartedly. Bars are not health spas. People should be be able to smoke where and when they want. If smoke bothets someone, that someone should go somewhere else instead of telling everyone they can no longer smoke there.

MM sez: “Non-smokers are crybabies.”
I sez: Smokers are pigs.
There, we are even.

I understand why they did it, I just think it ought to be up to the establishment.
