January 2009

It’s that time again. Let’s take a stroll, you and me, down my twisted, stress-fractured, potholed lane of memories. It’s Music Mammary Monday! In high school, I was a very, very angry white upper-middle class suburbanite. I had an upside-down American flag affixed to my Jansport book bag with the words “WAKE UP!” written above it in White-Out pen, which was the chosen method of communicating rebellion and political messages among my crowd. I was reading “The Wretched of the Earth” by Franz Fanon, “Guerilla Warfare” by Che Guevara, and “Democracy is in the Streets: From Port Huron to the Siege of Chicago” by James Miller. Being the rebellious youth that I was, I was ecstatic when Rage Against the Machine released their first new album in 4 years, Evil Empire. My favorite track was Vietnow, a steady anthem deriding radio, specifically AM talk radio. It makes me want to rip down a radio antenna and shove it up Rush Limbaugh’s stupid ass until his fucking prostate is nailed to the wall.

This gem appeared on Overheard in New York today. I am not a person who cringes easily, and this about made me puke.

Girl: And the doctor asked if she’d gone down on anyone lately, and she said “yeah, and when I was doing it, all these little bumps kept falling off in my mouth,” and the doctor said “you have genital warts in your throat.”

This is the full picture of my titlebar. Those who know who it’s about will find it funny. Those who don’t, won’t. The wordpress thingie couldn’t crop it so all the words, or at least two of them, could be seen.

I just wanted to let everyone know there’s a new link in my sidebar! I think you’ll enjoy it very much. It’s called “Neocon Fundie Death Camp”, and they have NO sense of humor whatsoever.

My creative juices have been running a bit dry lately. I blame my anti-muse. Fortunately, the benefits of an anti-muse far outweigh the costs. Anyway, Sarah stole an idea from another blogger called Music Memory Monday. To avoid allegations of plagiarism and *GASP!* lack of originality, I am changing the name to Music Mammary Mondays, since I love boobs AND music. So my first song for Music Mammary Monday is going to be Stray Bullet by KMFDM. I listened to this album non-stop for the first 3 months after I bought it. Stray Bullet is one of, if not my favorite tracks on the album, and the ascending synth loop that comes in at 3:42 makes me want to throw a kitten into a woodchipper. (That’s a compliment.)

Unfortunately, the Mammary part of Music Mammary Monday will have to wait for me to use a non-work computer. So, if you want to see a pair of tits, go to The Hun.
